National Service Scheme Department

In the second half of the academic year 2020-21, the college got permission to start the unit of National Service Scheme Department, the college established the NSS unit with a total of fifty volunteers.  But since this year is a Covid Pandamic year, the university declared this year as a lapse year.  In the academic year 2021-22, a total of 14 different programs were organized through the National Service Scheme Department.  In the academic year 2022 -23 as per the instructions of Mumbai University the number of volunteers has been increased to 75.  During these academic year, a total of 46 programs were organized by the National Service Scheme Department.  In the academic year 2023-24, the number of students was increased to 100.  A total of 32 regular programs were organized by the National Service Scheme Department.  Some important events in all these programs are bamboo rakhi stalls made by tribal women’s , blood donation camps at Virar Railway Station and N. G. Vartak English Medium School, participation in cleanliness drive organized by Mira-Bhayandar  & Vasai virar  Municipal Corporation, visit to old age home , Fit India Run, National Voter’s Day , National Unity Day, National Girl Child Day, Inauguration of Plastic Collection Center, Gandhi Jayanti, Swachhta Mission, various awareness programs were organized.  In the academic year 2022-23, the planning session of National Service Scheme Department of Palghar district was organized  in the college.  In the district level leadership training camp, volunteer of National Service Scheme Department Mr. Saif Shaikh,Mr.  Rohit Nirala participated.

Special Residential Camp

After the establishment of the National Service Scheme Department, from the academic year 2021-22, the college has adopted the Chandip-Shivansai village  in rural areas of Virar East.  Every year a seven-day special  residential camp is conducted in these villages according to the number of students determined by Mumbai University.  Programs like yoga, expert guidance on various social issues, adventure sports training are organized for the students in this camp.  Special work for villagers  is done in the village through volunteers.  Among them, mainly cleanliness drive, road repair, drain cleaning, painting at Zilla Parishad schools, Anganwadi cleaning, public awareness about paper bags, public awareness by showing social movies, organizing a one day joy gathering for women and villagers in which cultural program and Haldi Kunku program etc. were organized.  Zilla Parishad School and Gram Panchayat expressed their gratitude for the work  done by the Volunteers in the village by giving a special letter of thanks.
